• Whether it can be changed to something else. Tastes and circumstances shift. Ask whether the recipient may swap what you chose for a different experience, and on what basis.
• How the recipient books. Who they contact, on which channel, and how much notice is expected, particularly in the busy months.
• How long it stays valid, and what happens after that. Ask directly rather than assuming, and keep a note of the answer.
• What the recipient needs to bring or quote, and who to contact if something goes wrong. A named person is worth more than a general address.

Making it feel like a gift rather than a transaction
